Empowering Women Gives a Business Advantage

Chalmette Refining women engineers recently traveled to California for the annual meeting of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). The conference, involving 16,600 women (and men) from 33 countries, was jam-packed with empowering information relevant to women, especially engineers, in the workforce.

Taking great ideas home, the Chalmette SWE members decided to pay-it-forward by participating at STEM Saturdays, teaching local children STEM principles through hands-on experiments. Future plans are set to network with the Tulane University SWE chapter.

The group is also gearing up for the 2020 SWE National Conference to be held in New Orleans in November.
